WildSound podcast

During Word on the Street’s festival run, we appeared on the April 15th, 2020 episode of the WildSound film podcast, where we talked about our 20+ year creative partnership (and hinted at things to come).

“The Inbox” goes viral

Our sketch comedy about spam mail personified made waves and spread laughter worldwide after being written up and shared by outlets such as The Huffington Post, Gizmodo, Kotaku and many others.

 

Best Director

Hapstance creators Sean Parker and Austin Hillebrecht won a joint award for “Best Director” on the series pilot My Parents Are On Tinder at the Portland Comedy Film Festival, where it was in competition with nearly 200 other official selections. The piece was also nominated for “Best Northwest Comedy” and “Best Actress” for series creator Simone McAlonen.

 

Best Editing

IKEELYA, directed by Sean Parker, was awarded best picture by the Seattle SketchFest’s 2017 jury panel.

In 2019, it won “Best Editing” and “Funniest Video” by both jury and audience choice at Portland’s Funniest Video’s best of-the-year showcase.

In 2020, as part of the Portland Underground Film Festival in a special screening organized by Big Kid Films, IKEELYA was also awarded “Best Editing.”

 
 

Best Short

Word on the Street played at 20 film festivals around the world from 2019-2021, including the NYC Short Comedy Film Festival and Oregon’s McMinnville Short Film Festival.

It won “Best Short Comedy” at The Next Level International Film Festival 2019 and was a finalist at the 2020 Canadian Cinematography Awards.

Best Titles

Our first feature film Coup de Cinema won “Best Title Sequence” at the Action on Film Festival in 2011 for its painstakingly animated opening, a joint effort from Austin Hillebrecht and art designer Stephanie Woods. The film was also nominated for best visual effects.
